A Muddy Mess!!! :-)

I'm taking care of 2 dogs this week who stay outside in a fenced in pen. Well, its rained for about 3 days straight now, so as you can imagine, they and their pen is a muddy mess. I have to open the gate to go in to take them their food, so I, in turn, become a muddy mess, as well. These dogs are pretty big, a lab and a husky. They are both beautiful dogs, and I love them to death. Sometimes, they get really excited to see me, and start jumping on me. Those of you who personally know me, know I'm about the size of a first grader, so you can only imagine me being "attacked" by these two dogs...I'm sure the neighbors get some good entertainment out of it. haha! As I left the pen today, I had mud on my jeans and my shirt from one of them jumping on me, but it didn't matter. It actually made me smile and love my job even more because I just love animals so much and they love me. Animals have such sweet spirits about them, and when they look at you with those big ole' eyes like you can do anything, it just melts my heart. I wish people would take on the personality of animals, and would love you for who you are. No matter if you're popular, have lots of money, or in with the "in crowd". Animals don't care who you are, and they don't care who they get mud on, they just want to be loved and give love. So once again, I was reminded how much I love my job, and what a reward it gives me to help people who go on vacations/trips. Did I mind that I was muddy? Of course not, clothes can be washed. Tomorrow I will go back and do it all over again. Toby and Carmen will be just as excited to see me tomorrow as they were today. Animals are my buddies, and I can relate to them so much better than people sometimes. So mud or not, I love, love, LOVE my job (The Starbucks gift cards are just a few of the perks. :-) )!!!
