18 And Clueless!!!

The Class of '91...at least part of us.
Friends from school, Gretchen, Shelia, Me, and Deana
Patricia, Gretchen, and Me having some fun in The Foto Box!!
My signature from 1991! Two of my dear friends are above me (Melinda) and below me (Jackie). Unfortunately, neither of them made it to the reunion.

Isn't it funny when you're 18, you think you're so grown up and have life all figured out?? This past weekend was my 20th Class Reunion, and looking back over the past 20 years, I found out just how clueless about life I was...still am. There have been a lot of things happen between Graduation Day 1991 and now. A lot of things since I've even seen most of the people who were there, things in my life that they have no clue about. After graduation, I went to college in Arkansas, after college, I lived in Florida for 2 years, and now here I am in Tennessee. Many other things happened amongst these moving times, but this blog would be never ending if I put them all down. :-) At our reunion, a banner was brought out that apparently we all signed our Senior Year. I think we signed it at our all night prom because I vaguely remember signing something that night. This banner was not to be opened until our 20th Class Reunion. Of course, when you're 18, you think 20 years is an eternity away. I'm here to say that those 20 years flew by faster than I could have ever possibly imagined! I have posted a picture of my signature from that time in May 1991. It's funny to see how your signature has changed through the years. Mine basically still looks similar, but without the LONG tail on the "Y" and the slashes through it. I guess that was cool to do at the time. haha! Things like this banner are very sentimental to me, it just brought back a flood of memories. Even when I first walked into the reunion and saw many people from my class, I was immediately transported back to 1991. Looking back over these 20 years, lots of "stuff" floods my mind, some good, some not so good. Here are just a few things that have happened in the past 20 years. We've had 4 classmates pass away, I've had many ups and downs in my life, several relatives have passed on, I've met SO many wonderful people that I would have never met if I had not moved away, Facebook appeared :-), times when my relationship with God was almost non-existent to times when God has been the ONLY thing to get me through certain circumstances, my brother and his wife have 3 kids, I can't even count all the weddings I've been in (always a bridesmaid never a bride...yep, that's me!!), singing on a praise team at church, becoming a part of 1WORD and singing all over Nashville....just so many things have happened. Things I never imagined, and some that I don't want to relive... EVER. It was nice being at my reunion, but honestly?? I wouldn't go back to high school even if I had the chance. My life is in Tennessee now, and I'm happier here than anywhere I've lived. I must be a real southerner now because several people said to me this weekend, "You've got a southern accent." I think I kinda like that!! :-) So 20 years have passed in the blink of an eye. It's been a bumpy ride at times, but there are many things I wouldn't change at all. Life is a roller coaster, and sometimes you're only option is to hang on! The older I get the more I realize I'll never have life figured out, but I'll just enjoy the journey that God leads me on. So here's to the next 20 years... God Bless!!
