Acafest/Summer Celebration 2011!!

I have just experienced two incredible days on Thursday and Friday at Lipscomb University for Acafest/Summer Celebration 2011!! If any of you have been to the Tulsa Workshop, this is basically the same on a bit smaller scale, but just as wonderful. It is also a wonderful place to catch up with old friends from college and your past. It's like a big family reunion, only better!! :-) And, since it's in Nashville, there is usually a famous person who is interviewed by the President of Lipscomb University's wife. Pat Boone has been there, Scott Hamilton, and this year, Amy Grant was the star. That was just pretty cool! 1WORD sang once at Acafest last year, and this year we were blessed to sing four times on Thursday. Two of those times were worship/praise team settings, and then two concerts in the afternoon. We had a great time, and had the pleasure of sharing the stage with several incredible groups. I've posted a couple of pics from one of our concerts, and my favorite is the piece of wood/cross across Jesus' back "advertising" our nightly concert. Such a humbling picture. I am so blessed to be a part of all of this!! Sometimes I have to pinch myself to see if I'm dreaming because all of this is so surreal to me. I still can't believe how God has blessed me to be a part of all of this. I had several people come up to me on Friday saying, "Aren't you the girl who sang in the 1WORD group?" Now THAT was crazy to be recognized by people I didn't know. I'm FAMOUS, what can I say??!! haha! I'm just kidding, but it was extremely humbling to have people say how much our music blessed them. That's why we do this, it's not for our glory, but for God's glory!! HE is the only reason any of this is made possible for us. This "event" to me is a small glimpse of how Heaven is going to be! And I cannot wait to get there! I cannot wait to get out of this world where there will never be another evil word, evil thought, or someone trying to make me believe this or that is "ok"!! Everything will be perfect, and we will be praising our God for eternity!! I long for that day EVERY day where everything is made perfect!! Oh how beautiful Heaven must be!!
